Translated as "Guardians of the Homeland" in romanised Arabic. This anthem was adopted in 1938 during the French rule. It was used to gain independence but it failed. However, it kept the anthem instead. In 1958, the United Arab Republic was formed. Syria was part of it. That means the anthem was replaced. In 1961, Syria left the United Arab Republic, making the anthem restored. During the Syrian Civil War that started in 2011, both sides of the conflict using different national flags. Kurdistan and Rojava uses a different anthem as well. In 2024, Syrian opposition took over the country. Which made this as a de jure anthem. Today, there are no official anthem.
